47 Iranian firms showcasing products, services at Pak-Iran expo – Business & Finance

KARACHI: Pakistan-Iran Exhibition Opens at Karachi Expo Center on Monday. Kamran Tessori, Governor of Sindh Province, and Suleman Chawla, FPCCI Senior Vice President, opened the exhibition together with with senior Iranian diplomats.

As many as 47 Iranian companies demonstrate their competencies in a variety of goods and services; as diverse as oil and gas, petrochemical, water and electricity, food (dairy, milk, sweets and chocolate), barbed wire, polymer products, tiles and ceramics, galvanized wire, mining, steel and related industries, construction . materials agricultural products, various equipment, packaging products, home household appliances, carpets, etc.

Kamran Tessori, governor of Sindh, speaking at the inauguration ceremony, stressed that his office leave no stone unturned to make Sindh business investment, industrialization and trade friendly province. The only one way forward for Sindh is industrialization and social lift, he added.

Governor says FPCCI is the right partner for such exhibitions of one country; and, FPCCI network in all parts and branches of country can make bilateral trade with Iran rises to true potential.

Irrfan Iqbal Sheikh, President of the FPCCI, reported that, being neighboring districts and sharing a common border, of 909 kilometers, Pakistan and Iran can accept their bilateral trade up to 5 billion US dollars in a short period of time of 2–3 years; through creating interdependence and complementarity in them trade and economy.

Irfan Iqbal Sheikh reported that the regional trade Accounts for up up to 75 percent among regional and territorially adjacent economic and trade blocks around world; and it has stood the test of time key to regional prosperity. this is cost-competitive in Not only in product pricing; but, also saves transport costs; saves time and creates healthy economic cooperation.

Suleman Chawla, Senior Vice President of FPCCI stressed Pakistan needs Iran more than Iran; and, reason is their huge fossil fuel resource. We can import fossil fuels by land; which is considered the cheapest route for import, he added.

“How important of fact Pakistan’s natural gas reserves are depleting; and we started importing RLNG. In 2011 we were 100 percent self-sufficient in gas and in 2021 our self-sufficiency was reduced up to 82.3 percent,” he said.

Hassan Nurian, Consul General of Iran in Karachi thanked Governor of Sindh and FPCCI for them full support in doing trade Exhibition reality; and, providing an upcoming attitude of pakistani businessindustry and trade community to Iranian products, companies, businessmen and attempts by the Iranian embassy to counterfeit trade and commercial alliances between the two countries.
