Our Regional Communications team is seeking an intern to support our work in planning and executing the marketing and communications efforts to promote the SouthWest Region’s core events and mission efforts.
The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.
The Association offers many resources to help you maintain work-life harmonization through your changing needs and life situations. **Internship Overview:**
+ Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
+ Internship Duration: 9/11/2023 – 12/8/2023
+ Fully remote based within the SouthWest region states including Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming
+ Salary: $23.00 per hour
**Internship Outcomes:**
Individuals participating in the internship program are provided with an opportunity to:
+ Gain important and practical job skills to be successful in a non-profit environment
+ Opportunity to explore a career-path with a reputable voluntary health/service organization
+ Gain experience in the professional world while learning about board management
+ Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others
**Responsibilities**
**Tasks could include things like the following:**
+ Providing support to the Region Sr. Marketing Communications Director.
+ Working with and handling media relationships.
+ Assisting with crafting communications plans and execution to promote non-profit programs.
+ Developing a full scope strategic communications plan.
**Qualifications**
+ Effective verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
+ Knowledge of AP style writing.
+ Basic knowledge of Canva.
+ Understanding of corporate social media management.
+ Ability to work professionally in corporate and non-profit environments.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
+ Ability to use Microsoft Office programs preferred.
+ Minimum availably 20hrs/week

+ Reliable WiFi Connection
