The 8200 Alumni Association has launched “8200 Global – NYC Edition”, aiming to help Israeli tech startups penetrate the American market. The first group of eight startups will join a week-long program in New York comprising of workshops, mentorships, and networking. This initiative is taking place during a slowdown in tech investments, underlining the need for startups to utilize global opportunities. The project wishes to provide these startups with the necessary tools to successfully navigate the complex US market. Collaborations with BHI, KPMG, and Greenberg Traurig LLP have been instrumental in this program’s launch. These collaborations highlight the importance of fostering innovation and driving business growth through partnerships. CEO of the 8200 Alumni Association and co-founder of 8200 Global, Chen Shmilo, has commented on the project’s mission. His emphasis is on their belief in the chosen startups’ potential to thrive in an ever-changing technological landscape, thus, strengthening Israeli startups. The first cohort of the 8200 Global NYC Edition represents a wide variety of innovations in Israel’s tech sector. Half of the selected enterprises are female-led. These businesses specialize in AI, cybersecurity, eCommerce, and health tech among others. These startups offer unique specializations. They seek to optimize digital communication, improve emergency response systems, and design applications specifically for women. These startups aim to transform their industries through innovative solutions posed to meet market needs. The acceleration programs of the 8200 Alumni Association, including the 8200 EISP and 8200 Impact, have supported over 300 companies. Over half of these companies continue to succeed, with nine making profitable exits totaling over $4.5 billion. These programs have played a significant role in enhancing the Israeli startup ecosystem.
