The Fall 2024 Small Business Executive Program (SBEP) in South Florida is accepting applications for the program offered by the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, a part of Florida State University Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship. The program is funded by The Jim Moran Foundation and Jan Moran in memory of automotive pioneer Jim Moran. Participants can apply at no cost until Sunday, March 31. “What I found to be beneficial was the simple way of looking at different situations as it pertains to my business and ways to look at and figure out solutions that are practical and doable as a small business,” says Precious Jones-Ward, CEO/Owner of Elite Natural Essence and a graduate of the SBEP. The Small Business Executive Program caters to CEOs, entrepreneurs, presidents, and business owners of small businesses across various industries. The program equips graduates with the necessary skills and training to leverage challenges for strategic gains, capitalize on business opportunities, and implement best management practices. The South Florida team has guided and graduated 46 cohorts and over 700 leaders since the program’s establishment in 2013. “Learning that I’m not the only one going through some of the struggles as a business owner and the opportunity to meet and network with others was what I found to be most beneficial,” says Max Zaslavsky, owner of Max Zaslavsky DMD and a graduate of the SBEP. From July to November, the Fall 2024 SBEP sessions occur once every two weeks at the Jim Moran Institute’s office in Broward County. The program consists of nine sessions, each focusing on a specific aspect of business growth and management. The sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. “This is the time of year when most people are focused on resolutions and making improvements from the prior year. Why not take a deeper look at your business and find out how you can create new opportunities in 2024?” says Jennifer Kovach, director of the Jim Moran Institute’s South Florida Operations. To be eligible for the program, applicants should hold the key decision-making role in their organization and be actively involved in its management. Additionally, their company must have operated for at least three years and employ three or more individuals. Successful program completion results in a certificate award, and graduates can join an ongoing peer roundtable for continued learning.
