Full Job Description Pay Grade/Pay Range:  57 Monthly (exempt): – Minimum – $ 36,088.00 Midpoint – $ 52,686.40 Department/Organization:  218161 – Law Library Normal Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm Job Summary:  The Assistant Law Librarian facilitates the use of the library for the general public, law students, alumni, local attorneys, and faculty. May provide such services as selection and purchasing of books, ensure accessibility and maintenance of book collections, and provide reference services. Additional Department Summary:  Will play a primary role in the acquisition, organization, and curation of public-facing technology and digital resources relevant to the law school’s educational mission, including proposing and developing library services and programs related to the impact and implementation of existing and emerging legal technologies, on the evolving nature of legal education and practice. Reporting to the Associate Director for Public Services, this position is a member of the Law Library’s reference team, providing general reference and research assistance to all Library patrons and participating in a rotating reference schedule. Required Minimum Qualifications:  Master of Library Science and one (1) year of experience in a public service library or archive environment. Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:  J.D. or equivalent degree from an ABA-accredited school. Skills and Knowledge:  Demonstrated awareness of current technology trends in the legal profession and law libraries. Knowledge of legal materials and research methodology using electronic and print resources. Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students. Preferred Qualifications:  Knowledge and proficiency with relevant legal research resources, tools, and technologies. Familiarity with educational and communication technologies. Interest in enhancing and expanding the range and quality of electronic resources offered to library users. Ability to learn new technology independently and to adapt quickly to changing technologies. Experience working in an academic library, including as a student worker or research assistant.
