Entrepreneurship Lessons From A 14 Day Diet

I am just completing a 14-day cleanse diet. What I eat is not usually a topic of the podcast but it was a challenging 14 days and through those challenges, some interesting insights have risen to the surface that I would like to share today on the podcast.

I wasn’t doing this to lose weight. I was on a diet to clean out different bacteria and creatures living inside my digestive system. By eating clean, removing sugar, removing a lot of carbohydrates, and taking a certain set of herbs I was cleaning up my insides so I could feel healthier, more energetic, have better focus, and more energy. Your digestive system has a very big impact on your mind and how you feel.

  • [02:07] Your digestive system has a very big impact on your mind and how you feel.

  • [02:52] When you feel bad no matter what the reason is it is very hard to keep a clear and objective mind about why you feel bad.

  • [05:24] It is important to recognize in your ideal audience that they may indeed be feeling the pain of the problem you solve and they may not be able to connect the true reason for why they are feeling this pain with what they feel is actually happening.

  • [06:33] They may be feeling some intensity of the problem but they may not be connecting it to why that is happening.

  • [07:35] If you can tell a story that through the language mirrors the experience of the problem in your audience then they are going to start to feel and make that connection in a new way.

  • [08:27] It is so essential for speakers to be telling good stories and creating a good human connection to really make sure there is an alignment with the problem and the solution that you create.

  • [09:47] One of the most valuable things you can have is a business that runs clearly and predictable so even if you are not at your best or you have to step away there are systems helping keep your business running without you.

  • [10:59] By putting myself in a little bit of an extra challenge, it shows me some of my best opportunities to grow.

  • [12:37] No matter where you are in your business and what you are creating, you always want to budget time, resources, and energy for yourself and your health.

  • [13:29] The longer that you spend always pushing hard, you slowly start to degrade your ability to maintain that.

  • [14:15] Whether you are just starting out or you have been in business for a while or you have been in this for many years there is room to invest in yourself and your health more and create this space.

  • [14:43] It pays off in the long run to have a healthy, happy body and you will have a clear sharp mind as a result.

  • [15:42] I highly encourage you to see taking care of yourself, your health, and your happiness and making sure that you are somebody whose cup is overflowing so that you can give to others is one of the best things you can do as an entrepreneur.

  • [16:09] I hope you can give yourself permission to take better care of yourself and that you can give your ideal clients and audience more sympathy and empathy and knowing that they may be feeling the big pain of that problem that you want to solve for them they just may not have the connections made yet.

  • [16:30] It is our job to help them see that first before we start giving them the tools to solve the problem and that is done with great storytelling.
