February 26, 2024 AEOP Internships, formerly known as AEOP Apprenticeships, has recently undergone a name change designed to better reflect the program’s extensive offerings. This transformation aims to enhance transparency regarding the opportunities and advantages accessible to participants through the AEOP Internships program. The term “apprenticeships” has evolved to be closely associated with industry-driven, career development pathways in trade professions like manufacturing, construction, and information technology. Apprentices can expect paid work experiences, classroom instruction, and nationally recognized certifications. This adjustment in terminology to AEOP Internships aligns more seamlessly with the program’s core identity, emphasizing the diverse opportunities available to students for exploring STEM career interests and developmental pathways. Despite the change in name, the AEOP Internships program remains committed to delivering the same high-quality, hands-on STEM experiences centered around one-on-one support from a mentor. These experiences are tailored for high school and undergraduate students nationwide interested in delving into the world of research. AEOP Interns have the opportunity to work under the mentorship of professional scientists and engineers at U.S. Army Labs and partner universities throughout the country conducting cutting-age research. The program continues its dedication to nurturing the next generation of scientific leaders.
