**About the job**
The Red Hat Content Team is looking for a Manager of web writers to join us in Raleigh, NC, or remotely. In this role, you will work closely with content strategists and will write and optimize web content for a global audience. The Content Team works with the Product and Corporate Marketing teams to help our existing and prospective customers solve complicated IT and business problems.
Using your knowledge of content marketing, digital marketing, translation and localization, branding, community building, and open source technologies, you will engage prospective IT customers positively through their entire Red Hat experience. You will help us advocate for a consistent voice across all of Red Hat’s marketing and play a pivotal role in helping us simplify and amplify that voice. You will also connect with our content contributors to build awareness of the importance of quality writing and communication at Red Hat. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
**What you will do**
+ Manage web writers using our Open Management Practices Framework
+ Partner with multiple teams to plan, write, and optimize web content that addresses the needs of prospective IT customers
+ Collaborate with content strategists, data analysts, SEO experts, and user experience (UX) teams to create content to meet defined goals
+ Measure the effectiveness of your projects against defined goals and larger marketing team goals
+ Consult with marketing and content team members to monitor content performance and optimize against defined key performance indicators (KPIs)
+ Connect with content contributors across Red Hat to create consistent experiences for existing and prospective customers
+ Apply your unique skills and insights to identify opportunities to make Red Hat better
+ Serve as an advocate for Red Hat’s brand and voice
+ Be a continual student of your craft and share your insights and ideas with others across the company

+ Ability to clearly communicate expectations with teammates and stakeholders
+ Effective rhetorical skills, including the ability to write clearly, compellingly, and concisely
+ Interest in and a familiarity with multiple data platforms (e.g., SEO software, content management systems (CMSs), heat mapping technology, etc.) that support web writing functions
+ Empathy for current and prospective customers
+ Appreciation for how targeted content helps people discover, understand, and purchase software
+ Solid understanding of how to translate complex technical content into compelling narratives
+ Ability to work with others in a highly collaborative work environment
+ Global experience (beyond North America) and additional language skills are a plus
