**POSITION DETAILS**

This position will report to the Dean of the Center for Worker Education (CWE) at the City College of New York. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Academic Senior Advisor will be responsible for:

–Advising students in the Online BA Program, and the In-person Program as needed, providing academic and personal advising to students each term and as needed

–Utilization of the CUNY electronic platforms for information and communication with students and others

–Maintain electronic and written advising records

–Design and help execute marketing initiatives towards increasing enrollment and strengthening the CWE brand, utilizing social networks, video portals, etc.

–Work with the Dean on Public Relations and press releases for print, radio, broadcasting, mail and electronic communications

–Work with the Dean and the CWE Staff and Faculty to accomplish the mission and goals of the Center

–Perform other related duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Bachelor’s degree and four years’ related experience required.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

–Master’s Degree in Marketing/Branding and Communications or related field

–The Advisor/Marketing Specialist will be an experienced professional with strong administrative, speaking and writing skills, who understands the academic environment and will be innovative and effective in meeting the marketing and academic needs of the Division.

**Vaccine Requirement:**

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

Please note: Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work in the office.

**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**

Provides expert and/or specialized academic counseling a diverse student population.

– Offers comprehensive advisement to full-time and part-time students

– Works with other academic affairs staff as well as enrollment and student affairs to assist students to declare majors and select appropriate courses

– Monitors students’ performances and takes appropriate action if necessary; resolves students’ problems regarding curricular requirements

– Develops academic plans and performs graduation audits

– Provides information to students regarding student support services, college policies and program procedures and guidelines

– Facilitates workshops; assists with other department activities such as course scheduling

– Establishes and maintains student advisement files; prepares activity reports and analyses

– May supervise extramural activities, such as internships and community service; may assist with accreditation efforts as needed

– May provide career and transfer services and/or specialized program counseling

– May supervise junior advising and/or clerical staff

– Performs related duties as assigned.

Salary range $62,411- $79,188; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
